The Family Handbook
The Western Nevada Regional Youth Center (WNRYC) Family Handbook explains what parents/caregivers can expect when a youth is admitted to WNRYC’s State-licensed Level 2.1 adolescent intensive outpatient substance use treatment program (ages 12–18, juvenile-justice referrals), including its recovery-focused vision, evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment philosophy, and the importance of family partnership throughout care. It outlines first-day intake (a required family meeting with consents and interviews), what clothing/personal items are allowed, the facility’s structured 24/7 supervised environment, progress-based treatment programming with school through Eagle Ridge High School, and access to AOD counseling plus mental health/psychiatric and healthcare services. The handbook also details family communication rules, confidentiality boundaries, expectations for family sessions, key safety policies and discharge planning/continuing care.
